This disclaimer explains the limits of website information, software output and third-party data. It should be read with the Terms of Use and does not exclude responsibilities or rights that the law says cannot be excluded.
At a glance
Opportunities, not guarantees
A promising result is a lead for investigation, not a promise of availability, ranking, traffic, resale value or profit.
Check at the source
Confirm current status, price, auction terms and metrics with the relevant registrar, registry, marketplace or data provider.
Clear legal boundaries
Review trade marks, prior use, harmful history and other rights before registering, buying or developing a domain.
Mandatory rights remain
Nothing in this disclaimer excludes liability or consumer rights that applicable law does not allow us to limit.
Purpose of this disclaimer
Domain Hunter Gatherer is a research tool operated by Dom Huga Ltd. The website, software, guides and videos help users discover expired domains, auction listings, reusable Web2.0 opportunities and related information. They are designed to make research faster and more structured, not to replace a user's own judgement.
By using DHG, you acknowledge the practical limits described here. This page adds context to the Terms of Use; if wording conflicts, the Terms of Use govern the contractual position. This disclaimer does not remove a promise expressly made in an order or policy.
Domain opportunities and outcomes
A strong domain can support a memorable brand, focused content project, client campaign or portfolio. Its value and usefulness depend on factors that vary over time: wording, extension, audience, history, links, demand, renewal cost, legal risk, development quality and the market when a sale is attempted.
A DHG result, filter, score, list position or inclusion on a website page is not a guarantee that a domain:
- is still available to register, purchase or win at auction;
- will retain backlinks, traffic, indexing, authority metrics or search-engine treatment;
- is free from trade-mark, passing-off, privacy, contractual or other legal issues;
- is suitable for a particular project, jurisdiction, audience or advertising platform; or
- will sell, rank, earn revenue, save time or produce a particular return.
Premium domains offered directly by Dom Huga Ltd are selected because they have one or more noteworthy qualities, such as concise wording, commercially useful keywords, an established link profile or memorable brand potential. Listing metrics and traffic figures are dated snapshots from the named external providers, not independent valuations or promises of future performance. Availability, the displayed asking price and any lease-to-own option remain subject to the live listing and final purchase terms, including Afternic terms where that route is used.
Past examples, testimonials and case studies describe individual experiences. They are not typical-result promises, financial projections or guarantees that another user will achieve the same outcome.
Checks to make before acting
Before registering, bidding on, buying, redirecting or developing a domain, carry out checks proportionate to your intended use and budget. Useful steps include:
- confirming live availability, standard or premium status, purchase price, renewal price and transfer conditions;
- reviewing archived content, backlink sources, anchor text, indexing signals and evidence of spam, malware or abuse;
- searching relevant trade-mark registers, company names, marketplaces and the wider web for conflicting rights or confusingly similar use;
- checking registry eligibility, reserved-name, local-presence and acceptable-use rules for the extension;
- verifying auction deadlines, bid increments, commission, payment, transfer and post-sale conditions; and
- taking qualified legal, tax or financial advice when the value or risk justifies it.
Free to register does not mean free of rights. A registrar accepting an order does not establish that a name is safe to use as a brand, does not infringe another party's rights and has no problematic history.
You decide which checks are appropriate and remain responsible for the registration, bid, purchase, renewal, content and use of a domain.
Third-party data and metrics
Many useful DHG features organise information obtained from registrars, registries, auction platforms, search results, archives, backlink services, metrics providers and other external sources. Dom Huga Ltd does not control how those sources collect, define, refresh, license or withdraw their data.
Different providers can report different values for the same domain. A metric is an estimate built for its provider's methodology, not a statement of fact about future performance. Cached data may lag behind a live source, an API can be unavailable and a source can change its format or terms without notice.
Confirm any decision-critical fact with the current authoritative source. Where DHG lets you add a third-party API key or account, that relationship is between you and the provider and is also subject to its terms, limits, fees and privacy practices.
Website, downloads and software availability
We take reasonable care to maintain DHG, publish helpful information and address reported faults. Even so, websites and desktop software can contain errors, experience downtime or be affected by device configuration, internet access, security software, operating-system updates and external-service changes.
We do not promise that every page, source, integration or feature will always be available, uninterrupted, compatible or error-free. Updates may be needed to maintain security and compatibility. A third-party source can become temporarily or permanently unavailable even when DHG itself is operating correctly.
Use current security software, install official updates, scan downloads where appropriate and keep independent backups of important exports, settings and research. Download DHG from the official member area rather than an unverified mirror.
Information is not professional advice
Website articles, guides, comparisons, software output and support explanations are general information about domain research and product use. They are not legal, financial, investment, tax, accounting or other regulated professional advice, and they are not a formal recommendation to acquire or dispose of a particular domain.
Your circumstances, objectives and jurisdiction may materially change the answer. Seek an appropriately qualified adviser for a decision that needs professional advice. Nothing on the website creates an adviser-client, fiduciary, partnership or agency relationship merely because information or support is provided.
External links and commercial relationships
Links to registrars, hosts, marketplaces, metrics tools, social platforms and other websites are provided for research or convenience. An external link does not mean Dom Huga Ltd controls, guarantees or adopts the linked site's content, security, availability, price or service.
Where a premium domain is sold by Dom Huga Ltd, the listing may direct the buyer to Afternic so payment and domain delivery can use that marketplace's transaction process. The resulting purchase is also governed by the terms shown by Afternic during the transaction. A lease-to-own option is available only when it is shown for that particular listing.
Some commercial resource pages may contain a referral or affiliate relationship. Where that applies, the page should identify it, and Dom Huga Ltd may receive a commission or other benefit if a user completes a qualifying action. That does not increase the amount you pay unless the offer itself clearly says otherwise, and it does not replace your own comparison and due diligence.
External services have their own contracts and privacy practices. Review them before creating an account, submitting information or paying. Contact the external provider about its product, transaction or data handling.
Warranties and liability boundaries
We provide DHG with the care and skill required by applicable law and stand behind express promises made in the Terms of Use, Refund Policy and an accepted order. Subject to those promises and mandatory rights, information and research output are provided on an as-available basis without a guarantee of completeness, currentness or fitness for a particular domain strategy.
Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, rights that cannot legally be excluded, or any other liability that applicable law does not allow us to limit.
For consumers, responsibility for foreseeable loss caused by our breach or failure to use reasonable care remains subject to applicable law. We are not responsible for a loss caused by an independent domain decision, inaccurate external data we could not reasonably verify, an event outside our reasonable control or a failure to take reasonable precautions described on this page.
For business use, the additional liability provisions in the Terms of Use apply, including the permitted exclusions for indirect or consequential loss and specified business losses. This disclaimer should not be read as a standalone attempt to override those negotiated or statutory boundaries.
Intellectual property and trade marks
Dom Huga Ltd owns, or uses under licence, the original DHG software, branding, interface and website materials. The permitted ways to use that material are set out in the Terms of Use.
Names, logos, metrics and product references belonging to registrars, data providers or other organisations remain the property of their respective owners. A factual reference does not imply endorsement, partnership or sponsorship unless expressly stated.
DHG's discovery of a domain containing a word, name or brand does not grant permission to register or use it. Trade-mark and unfair-competition questions are fact-sensitive, which is why independent checks and professional advice may be important.
Changes, governing law and contact
We may update this disclaimer to reflect clearer guidance, product changes, external services or legal requirements. The current version and effective date will be published here. A revised disclaimer does not retrospectively remove a right or remedy that has already accrued.
This disclaimer is governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers retain mandatory protections and access to courts available under the law that applies to them. The jurisdiction provisions in the Terms of Use provide the fuller contractual position.
Something looks wrong? Accuracy improves when users report a stale link, unexpected result or unclear statement. Send the page, domain or feature involved to the member helpdesk or support@domainhuntergatherer.com.
